CALCIUM
Healthy Cow Calcium is a pasture-dusting supplement that helps prevent milk fever. It is a mineral essential to the health and well being of dairy cows.
Healthy cows produce more milk, have better reproductive performance and have lower culling rates than their less thrifty herd mates. Inclusion of Calcium as part of a balanced diet is a critical component of maintaining healthy cows!
Calcium is an important component of milk and it’s a material used in the development of bones and teeth, if older cows are calcium deficient, they will draw calcium from the bones in order to maintain the same calcium level in their milk.
It is of critically importance in the growth of young stock. As a deficiency can lead to poor growth rates of the bones and heifers will fail to mineralise.
Calcium is a chemical messenger and therefore is a critical component in transmitting nervous tissue impulses, muscle contraction and blood clotting.
It is involved in enzymatic processes such as hardening of the hoof horn.

CALCIUM + MAGNESIUM 80/20
Healthy Cow Calcium + Magnesium 80/20 is a pre-mixed product that can be spread onto pasture or in shed fed daily, providing the herd with the supplementation required to avoid both hypocalcaemia (milk fever) and, just as importantly, hypomagnesaemia (grass staggers).
ONLY APPLY ONCE THE HERD HAS CALVED!
Immediately post calving, a dairy cow’s calcium demand is especially high. That is because colostrum contains twice the amount of calcium as normal milk.
Supplementing with Healthy Cow Calcium + Magnesium 80/20 at the recommended rate during this period assists dairy cows return to health post calving.
This easy-to-use product saves farmers and dairy staff time and effort.

“If a cow needs just a little magnesium, more will be better right?” WRONG!
Indiscriminate over supplementation of magnesium can be just as detrimental as simple deficiencies. When using the Healthy Cow products it is imperative to feed according to inclusion rates specified on the label.

SILAGE SUPPLEMENTS
Healthy Cow Silage Supplement has been designed by an animal health specialist to supplement the nutritional value of silage fed to a dairy herd particularly during early lactation. It contains both calcium and magnesium, as well as providing essential electrolytes.
The Silage Mix has added salt (NaCl). Electrolytes (or salts) are essential to dairy cow health and assist in preventing milk fever in cows.
APPLY: When silage is being fed, while cows are lactating.
